Is Sniffy legit and safe to use?

Yes. Every Sniffy trade is protected by Stripe escrow: the buyer's payment is held and is not released to the seller until the buyer confirms the bottle arrived as described, or the 48-hour inspection window passes with no dispute. Sniffy prepaid labels are tracked and insured for the full sale value (up to $5,000), sellers can be required to film a boxing video as proof of what went in the box, and every listing photo is reviewed before it goes live (we check photos, not authenticity). If something goes wrong, disputes are reviewed by the Sniffy team, and buyers who are in the right are refunded to their original payment method. Trades are paid in the app only: deals paid outside Sniffy are not protected and never qualify for the Sniffy Protection Vault.

What are Sniffy's fees?

Sellers pay a 10% fee on sales. Shipping is the exact price of the cheapest insured, tracked USPS label from the seller's ZIP to the buyer's (typically $8–11), shown to the buyer before they pay with nothing added — unless the seller includes shipping in the listing price, in which case the buyer pays nothing for shipping and the label cost comes out of the seller's payout. Swaps cost $5 plus an insured label at its real price per side ($0 with your own label), on top of a refundable deposit. Buyers pay no Sniffy platform fee, only a small card-processing fee (about 3% + $0.30).

How does swapping fragrances on Sniffy work?

Both traders place a refundable deposit into escrow — as little as 10% of your bottle's value (never under $10), or as much as you want — plus a $5 swap fee and a prepaid, insured USPS label at its real price (the cheapest ground rate for your box, or $0 if you use your own label). Both sides film a boxing video (on by default for swaps), ship, and confirm receipt. Once both bottles arrive as described, the deposits are refunded automatically. If one side never ships, the other can claim their deposit.

How does Sniffy verify that fragrances are authentic?

Listing photos are reviewed by AI that identifies the fragrance and flags images that are not genuine photos of a real bottle. Sellers are prompted to photograph the bottle bottom and batch code, plus an under-the-atomizer shot, which is where counterfeits are most often exposed. Buyers can look batch codes up independently, and any listing can be reported for review. The AI photo check is a strong signal, not an authentication guarantee: Sniffy never physically inspects bottles, so always do your own due diligence.
