Selling perfume online usually means choosing between a general resale app that doesn't understand fragrance and a Facebook group where you invoice a stranger and hope. Sniffy is built for exactly this: photo-verified listings, escrow on every payment, a prepaid insured label, and buyers who know what a batch code is. And because every listing can also be marked for trade, you're not limited to cash — you can swap a bottle you're bored of for one you actually want.

How selling works

Photograph the bottle

One real photo. Our AI verifies it, reads the label and batch code, and fills in the house, name, size and concentration for you.

Set a price, or open it to offers and trades

Mark the listing sale, trade or sale or trade. Add fill level, condition and whether the box is included. Optional: attach a Sniffy Bond to stand out.

Buyer pays into escrow

When someone buys or you accept an offer, they pay Sniffy — not you, not yet. The money is locked until they confirm the bottle is right.

Print the label and ship

A prepaid, insured, tracked label prints from the trade. Film a boxing video if the buyer asked for one — it's your proof of what left your hands.

Get paid

The buyer confirms (or the inspection window passes) and the payout lands in your Stripe account, minus Sniffy's fee. Done.

What protects you as a seller

No chargebacks

The buyer pays into escrow before you ship, so you're never chasing a reversed PayPal payment after the bottle is gone.

Boxing videos

Require one on your own listings. A continuous take showing label, batch, fill and sealing is proof of exactly what you sent.

Disputes with evidence

If a buyer claims "not as described", it's judged on photos, videos and the listing — by a panel of experienced traders, not a customer-service script.

What sells fastest

Popular bottles priced fairly with a clear batch photo and honest fill level. Aventus, Baccarat Rouge 540, Layton, Althaïr, Sauvage Elixir, Le Male Elixir, Erba Pura and Khamrah rarely sit for long. Decants of Louis Vuitton, Parfums de Marly and Initio are in constant demand because those houses don't sell samples. Browse by fragrance or house to see what buyers are looking at.

Frequently asked

How much does it cost to sell perfume on Sniffy?

Listing is free. When a sale completes, Sniffy takes 10% of the sale price (5% for Sniffy Gold members). Buyers never pay a platform fee. There are no fees for offers, messages or unsold listings.

How do I get paid?

The buyer pays when they accept your price or you accept their offer. The money is held securely by Sniffy while you ship. Once the buyer confirms the bottle arrived as described (or the inspection window passes), the payout is sent to your connected Stripe account, usually within 3–5 business days.

Can I sell partial bottles, decants or bottles without a box?

Yes to all three. Be exact about fill level, batch code and whether the box is included — buyers on Sniffy expect that detail, and it's what protects you if there's ever a dispute.

What can't I sell?

Anything you don’t own, anything that isn’t genuine, and anything you can’t photograph yourself. Stock images, internet photos and AI-generated images aren't allowed. Testers are fine if they're labelled as testers.

How does shipping work?

A prepaid, insured, tracked label prints straight from the trade for a flat $10.95 (paid by the buyer, or included in your price). Perfume ships by ground; see the shipping guide for packing and carrier rules.

Is selling perfume on Sniffy better than eBay or Mercari?

For fragrance, usually yes: fees are lower than eBay's roughly 13% for most sellers, buyers here know what a batch code is, decants and partials are normal rather than suspicious, and you can also list for trade — which general resale apps can't do. Escrow protects you from chargebacks in a way a PayPal invoice doesn't.
